provide a RTK quality underwater positioning system in shallow offshore waters.
Using our own MGB-Tech machine guidance components we built a system that provides 5 CM positioning with the taut wire principle.
We used a constant tension winch to straighten the draw wire. By accurately measuring the angles of the draw wire and the pitch roll of the frame combined with a cable length measurement gave us all the information needed to calculate the position.
For the inclination measurement we used three of our high accurate SAE1 gravitational inclination sensors. The draw wire length was interfaced with our ENC1 quadrature encoder.
MGB-Tech provided the mechanical design, measurement principle, calibration process and calculation software to transparently interface with existing systems.
