Tidal turbine positioning
Challenge: Provide a solution for mounting and interfacing positioning equipment on a tidal generator base that can be recovered without a diver.
What we did
- Design of stainless steel cages
We designed stainless steel cages that hold and protect all needed survey equipment. The cages are designed so they can be removed by the main crane after the turbine has been placed. This is done in such a way that no extra valuable time is needed.
- Interface through underwater POD
All instruments are interfaced through our underwater POD that brings the signals safely to the deck using a single umbilical.
What we delivered

- Mechanical design
- removal principle
- POD
- wiring
